"No, we've met, she stood me up. So do you know anything interesting about this Max guy. We were just about to go on a date when she left to go with Max. They started speaking code. It weirded me out." He said.
Maria caught the last part of Ian and Serina's conversation about a 'code', so she decided to check out what was going on. She walked up to their table, "Hi! Welcome to the Crashdown Cafe! How are you guys doing on this fine day? May I take your order?"
Liz poked her head around the corner, looking into the Cafe. Maria had walked out half way through a conversation they'd been having-- so whatever the reason was, Liz had no doubt it was interesting. "Maira?" She followed the blonde to a table. "What--," She caught a glimpse of who was at the table and stopped dead, turning beet red. "Uhhm... Hey, Ian... Serina.." She ducked her head and trailed off, looking anywhere but at Ian. "I uh... I'm sorry about our date, thing. Something... came up and Max needed my help with something important."
Maria quickly saw the uncomfortable situation Liz was in, so she called her over. "Hey Liz! Remember that thing I was going to show you in the back room? Well let's go see it now." Maria knew this would give her a chance to explain to Liz about what Serina and Ian had been talking about.
Liz bit her lip, trying to look happy. "Oh, uh, sure, maybe.." She said uncomfortably. "I'll just... be over here with Maria... 'cause we have to work.. and stuff. She'll be back over to take your order in a minute!" She said brightly, grabbing Maria by the arm and dragging her into the back room. "What was that all about?" She said anxiously, glancing back at ian through the small window in the door.
"I was listening to Ian and Serina's conversation about our group.. I think they're on to something. They know that we are hiding some sort of secret, but I don't think they have a clue. Ian is starting to get suspicious of Max...I'm afraid they'll find out or at least come close to finding out our secret, so we need to be careful when talking around them from now on."
Liz bit her lip, frowning. "I don't know. Serina has every right to be a bit confused... I mean, she was there when we found Isabel's daughter, which was weird... I think ian's just jealous though. i did kind of... ditch him when I found out Tess was here." She sighed, running a hand through her low ponytail. "Should we tell her? Serina, I mean. When FutureMax came, he said she was gonna be part of the group... She might as well find out on OUR terms, instead of seeing Michael blow someone up or something!"
(( Liz told maria about FutureMax, right? i dunno. I forget. if she didn't in the series, we'll pretend she did over the Summer. kay?))
"I think we should go see what Max and the rest of the group has to say about this. We'll probably take a vote or something on whether or not to tell her...I mean she is getting closer to Ian it seems like...what if she tells him??"
Serina was really confused by now, she didn't know what had gone on between Ian and Liz, so she decided to ask: "So, umm . . . are you like, going out with Liz or something? Because if you are, I can just, sort of, leave or something." Serina thought Ian was cute, but if he had something going with Liz, then she would deffinately not interfere. She thought that Liz was a whole lot prettier than her, and, of course, Liz would get all the hot guys with her looks, alone. It didn't matter, Serina had been rejected and shut out by plenty of other guys before, what was one more rejection? Besides, she had seen another cute guy earlier that, Michael, was it?

"So, what were doing before you came down to Roswell?" Ian said trying to start a conversation with Serina again. He definatly thought that Serina was beautiful but he didn't want to give up on Liz quite yet. There was something different about her. He hoped that he and Selina could be friends.
Liz shook her head, frowning. "No, Maria, if I tell her it's a secret there's no WAY Serina would do that!" She smiled encouragingly. "I've known Serina since, like, preschool here! We can totally trust her."
